Privacy policy
In short: Frontline Books Link is the link between Frontline's QuickBooks Online company and Frontline's own office apps on Frontline's own server. Today it stores only the encrypted connection to QuickBooks; it holds no books data yet. Any data it later handles belongs to Frontline Carriers LLC ("Frontline") and is used only for Frontline Carriers LLC's own accounting and tax work. It isn't sold, isn't shared for marketing, and isn't used for advertising.
1. Who we are
Coleman Dewberry built and runs Frontline Books Link for Frontline Carriers LLC. Frontline's QuickBooks Online company is connected to the app only when its QuickBooks administrator approves it. Questions about this policy go to cole@berrytransportation.com.
2. What the app collects
Today the only things stored are the encrypted connection (the keys QuickBooks issues when the administrator connects the app) and the company's name and QuickBooks ID, as QuickBooks reports them. No books data is stored until the first office app uses the link. This page will be updated, with a new effective date, before the first office app is installed.
Once an office app starts reading, it will collect from QuickBooks Online:
- the account lists (the chart of accounts, including inactive accounts)
- the trial balance, for the current and prior periods
- the general ledger: every transaction line, with its date, type, number, account, name, memo and amount
From Frontline Carriers LLC's staff, once an office app uses the link: trial balance and general ledger exports from QuickBooks that they upload, and the supporting documents and notes they add to a workpaper.
From Intuit: the connection keys QuickBooks issues when the administrator connects the app.
The app never sees anyone's QuickBooks password. It doesn't use QuickBooks Payroll or QuickBooks Payments. Payroll or card-processing entries reach it only as the lines the books already show in the general ledger and the trial balance.
3. How it's used
For Frontline Carriers LLC's own accounting and tax work, and nothing else:
- The office apps build the working trial balance, ledger drill-downs and supporting schedules from the trial balance and general ledger they read from QuickBooks Online or that staff upload.
- At first the link only reads from QuickBooks. Later tools may record entries that Frontline's staff approve. This page will say so before any of them starts.
- Results are shown only to people Frontline Carriers LLC authorises.
The data doesn't leave Frontline Carriers LLC's control. The app doesn't sell the data or use it for advertising or profiling. It doesn't send the data to any artificial-intelligence service.
4. Where it's kept
On a server that Frontline Carriers LLC controls, in the United States. Once an office app starts reading, a copy of what it read from QuickBooks is kept with the workpaper records, so a workpaper can be shown later exactly as it was made. The connection keys are never backed up; if the server is lost, the company connects again.
5. Who can see it
- People Frontline Carriers LLC authorises, who must sign in to the office apps that use the link
- Coleman Dewberry, to support and maintain the app
- Intuit, which provides QuickBooks and handles the connection
- Cloudflare, which hosts this site and relays the one-time QuickBooks sign-in step to the server. During that step it sees the company's QuickBooks ID and the one-time sign-in code, which expires within minutes. It never sees the books data the app reads
No one else, unless the law requires it.
6. How it's protected
- Everything the app exchanges with QuickBooks is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
- The QuickBooks connection keys are stored encrypted on the server, one set per company. Only the service that uses them can read them.
- The office apps that use the link require sign-in, serve their pages only over HTTPS, and are reachable only on Frontline Carriers LLC's private network.
- The app's logs hold what's needed to fix problems: error details and status codes, and, for connection-key errors, QuickBooks request IDs. They don't hold passwords, connection keys or data read from QuickBooks.
7. How long it's kept
Once an office app uses the link, the workpaper records, including what was read from QuickBooks, are kept as part of Frontline Carriers LLC's accounting records for as long as it keeps those records. When the company disconnects the app, its QuickBooks connection keys stop working. We delete them within 30 days of QuickBooks refusing them, which normally happens within two days of a disconnect. If our server is offline or can't reach QuickBooks during that time, deletion is delayed by as long. Frontline Carriers LLC can ask us to delete its stored QuickBooks data at any time, subject to its own record-keeping duties; we do this by hand and confirm to Frontline Carriers LLC when it is done.
8. Cookies
The office apps that use the link use cookies only to keep you signed in and to protect their forms. This site uses no cookies, analytics or tracking.
9. Your choices
Frontline Carriers LLC can disconnect the app from its QuickBooks at any time and can ask us for a copy of its stored data, or for its deletion, at cole@berrytransportation.com.
10. Changes
When this policy changes, the effective date above changes too. We tell Frontline Carriers LLC about any material change before it applies.
